Silicon Valley Mutual Promotion Seminar was held in University of San Jose on November 19th, 2016 .
Mr. Jiajin Yan and many Tsinghua alumni have joined the meeting. Mr. Yan shared his experiences of activities holding in Sichuan’s Tsinghua Alumni Association. He hoped that Sichuan alumni from Tsinghua could work together and have more achievements.
Dr. Claude Wang, the president of University of San Jose, presented his topic of Silicon Valley’s mutual promotion culture. He brought out three very important ideas in term of promoting Silicon Valley’s innovation culture. The first one is “Seek first to understand, then to be understood”, the second is “Do unto the others as you would have them do unto you”, and the third one is “Tolerance, which means to tolerant the difference in order to make the world better”.
Dr. Jiayuan Fang founded his chain afterschool, Afficident Academy, after a deep investigation of the current schooling system in the USA. His presentation gave us a new way to think the students as products from schooling system and audiences are all very interested in his speech and his company.
James Cai is a famous Lawyer in Silicon Valley, who is focused on industrial law and immigration law. He talked about how to avoid risks with real cases that he dealt about.
Prof. Xiaojing Dong from Santa Clara University shared three basic philosophies of conducting big data analysis with many interesting cases.
At the end of the seminar, everyone celebrated the grand opening of School of Mutual Promotion in University of San Jose was founded with a banner awarded by Mr. yan.
